About
Modular Integrated Construction Laboratory (MiCLab), with its roots in the Department of Civil Engineering, The University of Hong Kong (HKU), was founded in 2020. Our Lab stands at the frontier edge of MiC focusing on the development and innovative application of digital twin (DT), structural and material solutions for smart MiC project delivery. We also provide services including Building Information Modeling (BIM), Internet of Things (IoT), Virtual Reality (VR), Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (AIR) to the industry, strategy and policy recommendations to government departments and training to professionals and students.

MiC Series Booklets Launch:
"MiC Success, Glossary, and Guidebook"
The three MiC booklets entitled “Modular Integrated Construction for High-rises: Measured Success”, “A Glossary of Modular Integrated Construction”, and “Modular Integrated Construction Performance Measurement Guidebook” are produced by the Centre for Innovation in Construction and Infrastructure Development (CICID) and published by the Department of Civil Engineering, of The University of Hong Kong (HKU).
HKU CICID awarded “ICE Award 2020: Brunel Medal – Highly Commended” by the Institute of Civil Engineer (ICE)
HKU CICID together with the LYMQC project team has recently been awarded the ICE Award 2020: Brunel Medal – Highly Commended by the Institute of Civil Engineer (ICE). The CICID research team led by Prof Wei Pan also includes Professor CK Mak, Professor Sam Chan, and researchers on MiC and smart construction.
