Viability study of modular integrated construction application in public housing construction

Summary

The HKSAR Government Policy Address 2017 promotes the adoption of Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) to increase the productivity of the construction industry and alleviate the problems of shortage and aging of labour.  The objective of this study is to conduct a study of the viability of adopting MiC for public housing development in Hong Kong. Expert advice should be provided to cover the challenges and benefits of adopting MiC in terms of regulation/policy, technical, cost and productivity enhancement.
